Equipment Tagging

When invoices are paid, inventory equipment promptly goes to our register. Following that, we generate a property tag and forward it to the department's equipment custodian along with an Asset Locator Report form.

The department equipment custodian is responsible for:

  1. Attaching property tag to equipment
  2. Taking pictures of the property tag/equipment
  3. Recording the make, model, serial number, and building/room number on the Asset Locator Report form
  4. Correcting misinformation on the Asset Locator Report form (i.e. description, user, etc.)
  5. Forwarding the photos and the Asset Locator Report form to Equipment Management

The department equipment custodian is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information on the Asset Locator Report form. The data is utilized to keep the Equipment Register up to date.

It is essential we conduct biennial equipment inventories at our campus to align with federal government regulations and university policy.

  • This requirement serves to maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventorial records in the Equipment Management System.
