Guide to Successful Invoicing

Upon establishing an approved purchase order, services can commence, and invoices may be submitted upon completion of deliverables.

  • The following are essentials to include on the invoice:
    • A UC Merced Purchase Order Number
    • A comprehensive description of the provided goods or services.
      • The description should specify:
        • Quantities
        • Unit prices
        • Total price
      • Incomplete invoices will result in delays in payment processing.

 

Sales Tax

UC Merced is not exempt from state sales or use tax unless:

  • The property is purchased using federal funds, and the title or fabrication is vested with the federal government.
    • Sales or use tax may apply in such cases.
